“Flashpoint” to premiere at Boston film festival

I’m pleased to announce that “Flashpoint: Protests, Police, and the Press” is premiering at the 2024 Independent Film Festival Boston next month.

The 25-minute documentary delves into the complex dynamics between the press and U.S. law enforcement, particularly amidst the often contentious and sometimes violent protests in the United States. As a journalist featured in “Flashpoint”, I am honored to witness its unveiling at such a prestigious event.

Produced by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, "Flashpoint" stands as a testament to the indispensable role of journalists in upholding a democratic society. Under the direction of Max Esposito and rooted in the meticulous research of Joel Simon, the film sheds light on the challenges faced by journalists striving to report truth amidst turbulent times.

Screenings for the premier of "Flashpoint" are scheduled for Saturday, May 4th at 3:00 PM and Monday, May 6th at 7:15 PM at the Somerville Theater in Somerville, Massachusetts. Tickets are available for purchase at https://iffboston.org/series/the-festival/screening/shorts/hereford-documentary/

Together, let’s reaffirm our commitment to the principles of a free and vigilant press by attending the screening and supporting the incredible team behind “Flashpoint.”
